What is the school like?

We have around 400 children in school, from Foundation Stage (to age 5), through Key Stage 1 (to age 7) and Key Stage 2 (to age 11).

We are a Church of England School (Voluntary Aided) with a distinctive Christian ethos, welcoming those of other faiths as well as those of none. We have the explicit goal of promoting friendship and understanding between the diverse communities of our area, with special focus on our sizeable Muslim community.

"We are really happy with the school."

Parent, Governor survey, November 2016.

"Pupils are focused and attentive because they want to do their best."

Ofsted Inspector, Ofsted inspection report, February 2014.

"The Headteacher's clear focus on consistently raising pupils' achievement and aspiration is shared by staff, senior leaders and members of the governing body."

Inspector, Ofsted inspection report, February 2014.

Where is it?

The school is situated on Meadow Lane, at the end of Bedford Street.

Our youngest children (in their Reception year, aged 4 to 5) are at Comper Foundation Stage School, in Hertford Street. The staff of the two schools meet regularly to foster partnership and continuity of education and care.
